“Getting there” by Luis Martinez

Subject: High Performance Strategies & Tactics for Career Decisions and getting that next career.

What you can expect to learn:

  1. Who are you? Where do you want to go? What is your brand? How are you going to get there and who will help you get there? Network support. Mentor support.

  2. What are your talents and attributes, strengths? Answering the “so what?” question about accomplishments in your resume.

  3. Putting together your tool kit of elevator /value speech, questions, T-Chart for interviewing, effective cover letters, and resume with that all important “hook” that speaks and works for you.

  4. Developing the relationships, joining network meetings, phone interviewing, in person interviewing, helping you determine if you want to work there.

  5. Getting started on networking and doing exploratory discussions (not asking for a job). Addressing the question: “So how does this networking thing really help me?” Power of warm referrals. Cold calling? Don’t get stuck in a rut, isolated and withdrawn, and miss the rich opportunity someone may have for you.

  6. Pinging your network. How you support your network and why?

  7. What are your talents, attributes, and interests?

  8. What about the money, benefits, and other issues?

  9. You’re there - now what do you do?

Appendix has practical examples that are short and to the point.
